Column Bakehouse has been confirmed as Flavour Fest’s Social Enterprise Partner for 2017, committing to support the event for the second year running and bringing their love for artisan baking to the three day food lover’s paradise.

Flavour Fest, the south west’s favourite free food festival is returning from 2-4 June and award winning Plymouth bakery, Column Bakehouse will be not only bringing their delicious artisan bread, but their social enterprise expertise to the three day foodie extravaganza, providing an added flavour to this hugely popular event and building on the success of last year’s activity.

Claire Burgess, Head of Enterprises at Real Ideas Organisation, the Social Enterprise that runs Column Bakehouse, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring Flavour Fest again this year, and we’re looking forward to sharing our passion for fantastic hand-crafted artisan bread at the South West’s premier food festival.” “We believe that by working together with Flavour Fest we can support them to deliver not only the best food festival in the south west, but also incredible social value for young people, taking the event to the next level. Our partnership ensures a legacy way beyond the food and tourism sectors and creates links with learning, skills and social businesses; it’s the recipe for the perfect food event for a Social Enterprise City.” At last year’s Flavour Fest Column Bakehouse supported nine young people to gain work experience with stall holders at the event, providing valuable experience for those young people as well as providing extra support and capacity for stallholders. Jon Walton, Plymouth City Centre Manager said: “I would like to thank Column Bakehouse for their continued support of this hugely popular event and look forward to working with them to make this year’s event bigger and better than before. I’m already looking forward to sampling the many tasty delights that will be on offer.” Visitors to this fantastic foodie festival can look forward to an exciting three days of fun including a jam-packed chef demonstrations stage programme and over 100 food stalls alongside entertainment for all the family.
